Editing Services

Are you in search of an editor for your manuscript?

No matter how great your story is, if it’s full of errors, most readers will not recommend it and may even give you negative reviews for not investing in an editor.

As a twelve-time self-published author, my experience publishing books, editing, and working with other editors is extensive. Although it can get costly, I assure you that editing and proofreading are the most essential part of your manuscript, second only to the story, and is an investment you cannot afford to avoid.

Whether you plan to publish traditionally with the assistance of a literary agent or to self-publish, this step in the process cannot be left to your friend or family member unless they are an experienced and seasoned editor.

I have developed my own process that includes audio editing and traditional line-by-line, word-by-word examination. I also use software to ensure your words are as clean and error-free as humanly possible.

I will edit your beloved manuscript as if it were my own because I love being a wordsmith!

I do not offer rushed pricing because editing is a process that cannot be rushed.

How should my manuscript be formatted for editing?

Please provide your manuscript in Microsoft Word format as described below:

  • 8 1/2 X 11-page size with “normal” margins
  • Indent paragraphs at 1/2 inch.
  • Font size 12 in Times New Roman
  • Double-spaced

Please, no tabbing the first sentence of your paragraphs.

I am still building my editing portfolio, so for a limited time, I am offering my services at a discounted rate. Please email me at authorpsbartlett@gmail.com for more information.

Please write: “Editing inquiry” in the subject of your email and include the genre and word count of your manuscript in the body.

Reviews:

First-time author Jerry:

“The service delivered was more than I ever expected. Beautiful work and way more than I bargained for. Plus delivered way ahead of scheduled promise.”

First-time Author T. Daniel Mason – Getting Wired: Book one in the Alive and Wired Series:

“I would highly recommend Peggy to anyone needing her service. She edited my story/book, giving it a new life while still keeping to the original storyline, never removing my voice. She was very easy to work with, answering all my questions and more. Peggy checked all the boxes for me and then some she never knew about. Looking forward to working with her on my next project as well as reading her new book.”
