Where I’m Coming From

I was born on Valentine’s Day a long, long time ago in South Baltimore, Maryland, less than a mile from Fort McHenry and Federal Hill. I’m a very simple person. I love my life and am always striving to make it better for myself and my family.

I write, I draw, and I still work full-time. I’ve been married for over 25 years, and together, we have two sons, a daughter, six beautiful granddaughters, one grandson, and a nutball cat named Archie.

I love history and historical fiction.  I get my history fix via movies, television, and, of course, books, although I like to read almost every genre.

The most important thing I can do to succeed at what I love is to, above all, just keep writing. I don’t even know where these thoughts came from, but I’ve never looked a gift horse in the mouth that hasn’t kicked the crap out of me, so I place my hands on the keyboard and just let go…

Always remember to go for what you want, no matter your age, because whatever makes you happy and fulfilled is always worth your time.

I’m taking a fantastic voyage. Won’t you join me?

    1. The actual length of time was three months, which included research and editing but to answer your question, I arrived very late to this wonderful party so I have to stay focused. I try to write at least 1,000 words a night, five nights a week. Sometimes that 1,000 turns into 2 or 3 thousand and I end up not getting much sleep. Thank you so much for your comment. I truly appreciate it when anyone stops to comment. 🙂

      1. That’s awesome! Can I add you on Linkedin? I’m in the Baltimore area too, west of the city

  1. Congratulations on Fireflies. Thanks for following FIGHTER FAITH. I’m providing a free copy of my e-book Far Better Men to service members, veterans, and e-mail subcribers. Come on back if you’re interested in this free digital download.

  2. How very wonderful. I just followed you on twitter. It’s nice to be surrounded by romance writers, there aren’t any in my critique group and non-romance readers/writers just don’t understand you 😉 Congrats to your success!

    1. Thank you! Nice to meet you. My romances aren’t what I’d call typical romance stories but romance weaves through everything I write. 🙂 I just have a habit of piling danger and mystery on top of them 😉

      1. That’s awesome! I think that makes it better and stand out. I write YA contemporary, sci-fi and fantasy with strong romantic elements…there must be love! Who doesn’t want to fall in love on another planet? lol.

  3. I was just doing some research for our upcoming trip to NOLA at the Chateau LeMoyne and came across your page! Looking forward to the visit and possible a visit from beyond! My wife and I have had several encounters in our travels, Savannah GA and one at Auschwitz during a tour. I actually had a small girl spirit who lived in my home in Texas! Oh, by the way, I live in Texas but grew up in Dundalk Hons! I’ll let you know if we are visited! Cheers Keith
