It was an honor being one of the first to read this book written by my friend. It’s beautifully written with wonderful characters that you’ll love. You’ll find yourself engrossed in their lives, hopes and dreams. A truly enchanting story.

Good story, makes me want to read more about the characters March 31, 2013

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but the cover of Fireflies drew me in. Then I stayed because I was hooked! I enjoyed the story of this Irish family in America. The characters are developed well and their backstories are shared at the perfect time. I liked the characters and at the end of the book I wanted to know what happened to them. To me, this is a sign of a good book! I like paranormal fiction – it’s my favorite genre. Fireflies is the latest addition to my collection. I hope the author writes quickly, because I want to read more!

As I read this novel I found myself being transported into a time far away, yet very comfortable as I was drawn into the family Whelan. I could imagine being part of that family and with each turn of the page I was part of that family. I could imagine a little boy with the gifts of Ennis and feel his comfort in having the gifts as well as the angst of his family as they worried about him. I worried about him. As a first time novelist, Ms. Bartlett seems to have a gift and I will look forward to more novels written by her as it can only get better with experience.
…And a BIG Happy Birthday to my Sweet Pea!
