Not Much Editing But Lots of Sun and Soup
I had hoped to get a good bit of editing done this weekend but I opted for real world offerings. The sun was plenty this weekend here in Maryland and although the pool was still quite chilly, it felt nice to take a dip and spend time with my family. My babysitting adventure was a …

What a way to end a beautiful weekend! A Five Star Review!
Recently, I offered a free copy of my second novel HOPE FROM THE OCEAN in exchange for reviews. That offer still stands and shall remain standing until I decide to withdraw it. At this point however, I have no intention to do so. Nicole was one of two people who took me up on my …

Headaches. Hunger. Pain.
Leo needs something . . . his stomach growls, but it can wait. That’s not hunger he must feed. He has to get to his next high, but without money he knows he can’t buy what he needs to sate the voice inside telling him to get more, get more.
Voices. Visions. Addiction.
No luck asking his father. His mother is in no position to help. After failing to steal the money he desperately needs, Leo must appeal to his dealer, the dangerous and infamous Saint Nick—despite the inevitable beating he’ll take for showing up empty-handed. Still, anything to keep the voices and flashbacks at bay . . .
Demons. Addiction. Death.
Leo soon learns that everything has a price—not just money for…

Things I Do When I’m Not Writing – Babysitting
I've decided to start a new series of posts. Maybe once a week or so, I'll talk about things I do when I'm not writing. Tonight's episode is babysitting. I'm not sure if spending time with my granddaughters should be considered babysitting except for the fact, their parents went to the movies and were not …

Christine Haggerty’s Writers’ Workshop: How to write fight scenes
Thank you for sharing this. I remember trying to write my first fight scene and going into a panic because no matter what I wrote, I didn’t “feel” a part of the fight. I researched and read dozens of fight scenes until I finally got it. I wish I’d have seen this back then. 🙂
In response to my idea to launch a writers’ workshop, Christine Haggerty author of The Plague Legacy has offered to start things off with an article about one of my pet hates: the fight scene.
How many times have you skipped pages in a book, flipped through looking for the end of a wretched ding-dong just to get on with the story? Often a fight is inevitable, and personally I try to dispatch it as quickly as possible. Blow-by-blow accounts of a fight where the only interest is the outcome, quickly bore me rigid.
Christine is one of those authors who actually enjoys a bit of violent contact and knows how to handle it. She has very kindly agreed to share her practical experience on my blog. I hope you will find her article as helpful and entertaining as I have.
