17 Bestseller Tips – from Trade Publishers
Savvy Writers & e-Books online
.
If you ever see Marketing and Advertising from traditional puplishers, it’s for their Bestseller authors only, such as: Advance Book Reviews, posted on their book’s cover, Book Tours and Signings of celebrity authors, media coverage including reviews, speaking engagements, and placing at major bookstores who report to Bestseller lists. How can author-publishers use the methods of global trade publishers to promote their self-published books? You don’t need to travel to the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany, like Johannes Kepler did in 1620 – yes, self-publishing was en vogue already four hundred years ago!

7 Million Self-Published Titles: Stiff Competition
Since 2010 roughly 7 million new self-published books appeared, almost all at online retailer’s websites. And these titles will be offered for many years to come, as most of them are in digital format. The “gold rush” seems to be over and self-publishing has been dropping almost 50% per…

Sweaty Christmas! (Vietnam)
I LOVED this story! John’s experiences are so far beyond anything I could ever hope for. Enjoy!!!
Vietnam ~ Halong Bay – 2013
I headed to Vietnam over the last Christmas holiday…which meant I was spending another Christmas away from my family and friends, which naturally sucks – but that’s not what this post is about…don’t get me wrong, obviously I love Santa and Jesus as much as the next guy…actually if only this was about them…at least I would have someone to blame.
Instead the blame lies with a catalog of errors and unfortunate situations – the first of which occurred on the festive date of the 25th of December; as my travel buddy was told, at the airport, that they wouldn’t be allowing him to fly, (YES. ON CHRISTMAS DAY, AT THE FUCKING AIRPORT – I ASSUME THE GRINCH WAS ON DUTY!), so consequently I would have to leave on my own…I suppose I was a little shell shocked at the whole episode as…

Shining a Spotlight on RAVE REVIEWS’ “SPOTLIGHT” Chats
Written by Danica Cornell
For those of you who follow me on Twitter, there’s a pretty good chance at least some of you are familiar with Rave Reviews Book Club’s (RRBC) “SPOTLIGHT” Chats. But, for those who don’t yet know about these chats or why they’re so beneficial for authors, then this post is for you.
“SPOTLIGHT” Chats, (also referred to as Twitter Chats, Twitterviews and Live Tweet Chats) are an exciting new program we’ve designed at RRBC as yet another way to Profile, Promote & Propel the careers of our indie author members! Simply put, these chats are live Twitter interviews, (conducted by yours truly) which are designed to drive the conversation around the author’s brand – and they do so in a manner that’s both fun and effective!
Here’s How it Works
With “SPOTLIGHT” Chats, folks can join the conversation by directly tweeting their own questions…

Getting Back to the Basics
I believe this writer is on to something. Of course he is! Readers are intelligent and discerning. They know when you’re not writing from your heart and head.
When was the last time that you wrote without worry? I mean really wrote without hearing the naysayers, critics and self doubt in your head. If you’re an everyday writer, then it’s probably been a while. But why is that? Regrettably, a big part of it almost certainly has to do with the writing world today, and the emphasis it puts on book ratings, author critiques and reader reviews. It’s become so bad that for some writers, doing what they love also means having a nervous breakdown. But allow me to send out a plea to all of the bloggers, novelists and poets out there. This isn’t how it should be. We should be thrilled to write. We should be hungry to start our next piece, thinking about it while cooking breakfast or trying to get some sleep. Maybe it’s time for a change. Maybe it’s time for us… to…

Hope From the Ocean – A Peek Into the Lives of the Flynns
Hope From the Ocean is missing some love from me. I go on and on about FIREFLIES but HOPE FROM THE OCEAN deserves a hug as well.
I wanted to share an excerpt from Chapter 3 of “Hope From the Ocean.”
This is but a sneak peek into the lives of the family Flynn and what makes them so special to me and to so many readers already.
Enjoy:
By Christmas night, they were all stuffed fatter than the goose and huddled together for one of Loch’s tales. He was going to stick to the stories of the Bible but chose to veer from the course and snap them from their food-induced sleepiness with the story of Tír na nÓg.
“I love this story, Dillon,” Aideen whispered, sliding closer to him on the rug.
Dan watched from his usual place and reflected on the confrontation with Loch that morning. He wondered if perhaps he could be wrong about his eldest son and hoped whatever animosity Loch held towards Patrick would work itself out over time. Either way, he’d keep…

101 Things I Will Teach my Daughter
With one grown daughter and three small granddaughters, I like to think I have said and am still saying all of these. Thank you Allie Rios for leading me here.
- The most beautiful thing you can do is smile.
- Embrace whatever genre of music you enjoy listening to. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s “not music.”
- But just know there will never be a better song than “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins.
- It’s ok to think another woman is beautiful.
- Don’t be catty to other women. You’ll need them when we all overthrow the world together.
- Don’t let any man convince you that he is powerful enough to change you.
- Even if he bought you dinner, you owe him nothing.
- The amount of pride you feel when you look good in your bikini for 20 minutes is far less than the happiness Taco Bell can bring you. I promise.
- Develop a lust to see the world around you.
- It’s ok if you don’t want to play princess or put on makeup.
- But it’s ok if you do, too.
